As written by my mom, Lorna Dugas.
“I was born on a farm one mile north of Saskatoon on September 7th, 1927. was the 12th of 14 children. I attended Brownell school. My mother passed away in 1936, I went to St. Patrick’s orphanage with my two younger sisters, Ruth and Bunny. I attended school there and finished at Convent of Sion in Prince Albert.
In 1945 I went to work at St Margaret’s Hospital in Biggar, then I worked at Dr Langer’s office in 1947, I met my husband Beaumont Dugas during that time. Beaumont had just returned from serving in the war. We were married in 1948 and started our family in 1950. I had three children, Dennis, Glenn and Gayle. I have 7 grandchildren plus 13 great grandchildren.
In 1960, our family moved to Saskatoon. I volunteered at the RUH children’s ward, The Red Cross as well as the YWCA opportunity shop for 16 years. Beaumont passed away in 2012. I am currently living at Amy McClure Place in Saskatoon.”
