Daniel Kurucz passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington, in his 85th year.
Beloved husband of Diane (Beach) Kurucz, whom he married on October 6, 1962. Dear father of Kevin & Carmen of Calgary, Colin of Bronte, and Brad & Phoebe of West River, N.S. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Ryan, Courtney, Navaah, and Jove. Daniel is also survived by his brother and sisters-in-law, Catherine & Josh Entz of RR#3 Bright, Esther & Eli Entz of RR#4 Bright, Margaret Kurucz of Paris, Rosemary Kurucz of Burlington, Annie Kurucz of Israel, and Ernie Varga of Paris, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Fred & Theresa (Schill) Kurucz, his brothers and sisters Coleman Kurucz, Eli (Frank) & Nancy Kurucz, Julius Kurucz, Fred & Mary Kurucz, Theresa & Julius Kubassek, Annie & Erwin Meissner, Magdalene Kurucz, Elizabeth & Andrew Gabor, and Lydia Varga.
Daniel was a dedicated employee for 38 years at Canada Brick/Lehigh Hanson until his retirement at the age of 56. He then spent many years playing tennis with his friends. He was an accomplished coach and convenor for his three sons in hockey, baseball, and soccer, where they all excelled, and the teams won several awards. He selflessly organized practices and games, and loved every moment.
Relatives and friends will be received at the Glendinning Funeral Home, 40 William St. N., Plattsville, on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service in the Chapel at 12 noon. Interment to follow in Chesterfield Cemetery. The service will be available via live stream.
