Maurice Alvin Baltus May 22, 1947 – September 4, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maurice “Moe” Alvin Baltus on September 4, 2026 at the age of 79 surrounded by family. Maurice was a loving father, Poppa, great-grandfather, brother and a friend. Above all else, family held a special place in his heart, and the love he had for those closest to him will remain an enduring part of his legacy. Maurice was the cherished father of Matthew Baltus (Nina) of Cambridge; Tammy-Jo Savickis (Frank Indelicato) of Hamilton and Jennifer Isik (Dilaver) of London. He was the proud Poppa to Alex Hodgson (Conner Gordon) of Ingersoll; Selena Baltus (Zaniel Livingstone) of Cambridge; Marcus Baltus of Cambridge, Derek Savickis of Hamilton, Stuart Savickis (Lindsay Rankin)of Hamilton, Anthony Indelicato (Jenna Currie) of Hamilton; Nicholas Indelicato of Hamilton, Chantelle Vivian (Tyler Harvey) of London; Kaylee Vivian of London, Charlie Hunter (Matthew Knox) of Welland; Madisyn Hunter of London. He was also affectionately known as “Grandpa Moe” to his great-grandchildren Ava and Catherine Indelicato and Oaklyn and Sterling Harvey, who brought another generation of love and happiness to his life. Maurice will be lovingly remembered by his sister Darlene Thompson (Dave) of Owen Sound, along with his extended family and good friends especially Bruce Fitzgerald and Janice Bowman. Dad’s fur babies Peanut and Cashew are going to miss the car rides and outings with Dad as his support animals. He was predeceased by his loving wife Nancy, his sister and brother-in-law Marilyn and Robert Deacon, his parents Edwin and Dencie Baltus and his in-laws Gordon and Isabel Kerslake. We also like to think that waiting to greet Dad were a few of his much loved four-legged companions who went before him including Zoey & Polly. They were part of the family too and each held their own special place in his heart. Anyone who knew Maurice knew there was another love that held a particularly special place in his heart-his 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, finished in Viking Blue with a white top. It was more than just a car, it was something he treasured, took pride in, and undoubtedly carried more than a few good memories. It was simply a part of Dad and one of those things that will always bring a smile when we think of him. As we say goodbye to Dad, Poppa, Grandpa Moe, brother and friend, we find comfort in believing that those that left before him were there to welcome him home. We trust that he has found peace and rest in God’s loving care, reunited with his wife and his faithful fur babies close by. Visitation will be held at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas St N, Cambridge on Monday September 14, 2026 from 5 pm – 9 pm. Reception (10-11 am) and Funeral Service commencing at 11am will be at Calvary Pentecostal Assembly, 127 Hespeler Road, Cambridge on Tuesday September 15th, 2026. Interment will take place at Avonbank Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations made to Calvary Pentecostal Assembly or the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family. Rest peacefully Dad. You were deeply loved, you will be greatly missed, and you will “remain forever in our hearts.”
