HUTTMAN, Ruth

April 30, 1947 – September 11, 2026

Memorial candle

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Ruth Huttman (nee Roddy) of Aurora, Ontario, with her son Brett at her side, on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Southlake Hospital. She is survived by her son, Brett (Kirsten), and her brothers Bill, Robert and Allan. Much loved grandmother to William and Laura.

Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Ron, her mother, Rose, and her father, Basil (Bud). She will be dearly missed by all her family, friends, and neighbours.

Ruth built a progressive career in business as a finance executive and was equally devoted to her passion for quilting and embroidery. She created countless beautiful pieces for family, friends, and charitable donation, and treasured the close friendships she built within her quilting community. Ruth also loved to travel and recently returned from a cruise to Alaska to see the glaciers.

At Ruth's request, she will be cremated, and her remains will be placed alongside Ron's in a private family ceremony. An informal Celebration of Life will be held at Thompson Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora, ON L4G 6W8, (905) 727-5421, on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 2:00pm-4:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to McMaster Children's Hospital would be graciously appreciated by the family, www.mackids.ca.
