Susan Mary Mitchell, a very gentle and humble soul, passed away quietly on September 14, 2026, at the age of 77.
Born in Brampton on March 5, 1949, Susan lived a life rooted in quiet strength and devotion to her family. Over the years, her journey led her from Brampton to Acton, and eventually to Sarnia, where she settled with her son and his family.
Susan was a loving mother to Donald (predeceased) and Christopher (Michelle), and a proud grandmother to Hunter and Camryne. She was predeceased by her loving parents, Ruby and John Mitchell, as well as eight of her siblings: Jean, John, Edward, Harold, Wilbur, Charles, and James. She is survived and fondly remembered by her brother, Robert, and her sister, Shirley, alongside extended family and friends.
A quiet person by nature, Susan found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved losing herself in the challenge of puzzles and had a deep appreciation for poetry, even penning a few wonderful verses of her very own. Music was also a comfort to her, and she was always a devoted, lifelong fan of The Monkees.
The family wishes to extend a special and heartfelt thank you to Twin Lakes Terrace Long-Term Care for the years of treasured memories and the fantastic, compassionate care they provided to Susan.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has already taken place through Smith Funeral Home, Sarnia. A celebration of Susan’s life will be held at a later date to gather and remember her gentle spirit. For those who wish to honour her memory, donations may be made to Epilepsy Canada.
