Peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa surrounded by his loving family on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 84 years of age.
Bob will be lovingly remembered by Dale, his cherished wife of 62 years, and his children Shelley and Pennie (Tony). He was a devoted grandfather (Pa) to Matthew, Kurt and Charlotte and great-grandfather to Kaylie, Kennedy, Landon, Maci and Anna.
Predeceased by his parents (Wilfrid and Charlotte) and siblings (Anne and Buddy). Adored and respected by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Born in Cornwall, Bob was a man of great faith and a farmer at heart. Although he spent his professional career as a banker with the Royal Bank, his favourite place in the world was at the family farmhouse in Lunenburg, sitting on the porch with Dale watching the birds and feeding the chipmunks. He was well known for his gentle presence, kindness and very dry sense of humour. He was the king of dad jokes and diehard Leaf’s and Blue Jays fan.
The family would like to thank the CCU staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa for their kindness and care, especially the nurses (Laura and Jen).
Following cremation, the interment of ashes will take place at a later date at Memorial Hill Cemetery in Lunenburg. Details regarding a Celebration of Life will be announced when available.
