BOISSONEAU, William Garnet "Billy Duck" "Bimoseak Nimkii – Walking Thunder”
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of William Garnet “Billy Duck” “Bimoseak Nimkii” Boissoneau on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at his home in Garden River with his loving family by his side.
He is now reunited with his late wife of 62 years, Valerie Baa whom he cherished and missed deeply. He was a loving and cherished Dad of Kelly (Ralph), Greg (Lanetta), Darlene (Shawn)(Brian Baa) and Lovey. Special friend of Sylvia. He was a dearly loved Papa of Kody, Allysha and Kiarra; Dustin, Shalee and Madison; Zacary and Jadyn. Proud Great-Papa to Neila Bella, Lou, Solomon and Denali. Son of the late John Boissoneau and Gladys Roach. Special brother of Wayne Baa, Sandra Baa, Elaine, Arnellda (Finn) and Wendy. Special nephew of Joe Roach Baa, Lloyd Boissoneau "Bacon" Baa. Remembered by his many nieces, nephews and many loving friends.
Billy touched the lives of many people throughout his lifetime. He will be remembered for the love he shared with his family, the friendships he treasured, and the many memories he created along the way. His larger than life presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to his special friends at Algoma Steel (Utilities Department) for their care and friendship for over 45 years, as well as his medical team for their outstanding care and compassion.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the Garden River Community Centre on Saturday, September 26 from 2 pm to 5 pm. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East 705-759-2522). Memorial contributions (made payable online or by cheque) to the Sault Ste Marie Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.
