Elaine Angeline Walters

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Elaine Walters, who passed away surrounded by loved ones on Sept 18, 2026, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

Elaine Angeline Walters was born on June 29, 1952, in Cudworth, Saskatchewan. She was raised on a farm and in the close-knit community of Alvena, Saskatchewan. Elaine graduated from high school in Alvena. On Sept 2, 1972, she married the love of her life, Mark Walters, and together they had two daughters Mandy and Kaely.

Elaine devoted 35 years to the Saskatoon Board of Education as an Educational Assistant, retiring in 2020. Her dedication to helping children, particularly those with learning disabilities, was unmatched. Her passion for helping youth did not end with retirement. She continued tutoring and supporting children for years afterwards, always finding ways to make a difference in the lives of those around her.

Elaine was a woman of faith and was a cherished member of Circle Drive Alliance Church, where she practiced her faith and participated in Bible studies. Her faith, kindness and willingness to help others were woven into the way she lived her life.

Above all, Elaine was an incredible wife, mother, Baba, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved art and diy projects. She was also an incredible cook and baker- although she would probably tell you she didn’t like doing it. Elaine had a special way of showing her love to others through the things she made.

She was the friend that was always there for a coffee date, the mother you could turn to for advice and the Baba who brought laughter, play and so much love.

Elaine is survived by her beloved husband Mark Walters; her daughters Mandy Walters (Adam) and Kaely Sillers (Pierre- Luc); her grandchildren: Blade, Hayley, Knoxley and Enryx; and her beloved late son in law Slade, whose memory remains an important part of their family and whom Elaine loved dearly.

She is also survived by her brothers: Alex Komarniski (Jill), Eddie Komarniski (Sally) and Larry Komarniski (Patti); her in-laws Clarence Walters (Sheila); brother-in-law Kirk Walters (Sherry); her special Aunt Rose and Aunt Sophie; her cousins: Irene, Marge and Liz; her friends: Sandra, Brenda and Tom, Ann, Vi and Marci; her nieces: Klarissa, Joleen, Joanna, Hannah, Megan and Amy; along with many more cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family whom she loved so dearly.

Elaine was predeceased by her parents, Bill (William) Komarniski and Tina Komarniski (Zook). Though our hearts are broken by her absence, we will carry Elaine with us in everything she taught us, every recipe she baked, every laugh she gave us, and every beautiful memory she helped create. Her greatest gift was her love, and that is something she leaves behind in all of us.
