Nicolas “Nick” Economou of Sarnia, Ontario, passed away peacefully at Bluewater Health Palliative Care on September 27, 2026. He was born on May 8, 1946, in Marathos B, Karditsa, Greece.
Nick is remembered by his wife, Stacey; children Napoleon and Evey and their family; grandchildren Isla and Kaius; and extended family in Canada, Greece, and the United States. An entrepreneur for nearly 50 years, he co-opened a Mr. Submarine location in Sarnia in 1977 and later expanded his business.
Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home in Sarnia on September 30. A funeral service will take place at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church on October 1, followed by interment at Lakeview Cemetery.
