It is with love and heavy hearts that our family announces the peaceful passing of Jean Mary Rainey Allin in her 96th year.
She passed away at Caressant Care Nursing Home, Mary Street in Lindsay. Jean was the beloved wife of the late Glenn Allin, her sweetheart in life for 68 years. She was twin sister to the late Gerald Robert Rainey (Darlene). Survived by her children Shirley Schroter, (Moe), Steven Allin, (MaryAnn) and Nancy Karhu, (Al). Jean was a loving Nana to her 10 grandchildren, their spouses and Great Nana to 15.
Jean was born and raised in Orono. After marrying Glenn, they resided in Orono for three years. Following that they lived on the farm in Newcastle. She would spend her family life with Glenn, balancing children, farm work, church commitments and employment in the community. We will miss her greatly.
The Visitation and Celebration of Life will take place at Newcastle United Church, 84 Mill St, Newcastle, Friday October 23rd, 2026. The Visitation will be at 11 am with the Celebration of Life following immediately at noon. Internment will be at Orono Cemetery.
