Renato Couto passed away peacefully on October 2, 2026, surrounded by his family. He had been a resident of Cambridge since 1973.
Renato is remembered by his wife of 64 years, Aida; sons Rui, Paul and Peter and their families; grandchildren Katrina, Nicole, Darren, Jason, Melissa and Sophie; great-grandchildren Jack and Julia; and family friends in Canada and Portugal.
A longtime parishioner of St. Clement’s Church, Renato was devoted to his family and faith and was known for helping others. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Clement’s Church in Cambridge on October 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a reception at Barthel Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation.
