Peter Klassen Jr., 76, of Tillsonburg, Ontario, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 3, 2026, after a courageous struggle with illness. Born July 19, 1950, in Chihuahua, Mexico, he was the son of the late Peter and Maria (Wall) Klassen. Over his working years he drove for various transport trucking companies, and in retirement he worked a delivery job with Klassen Auto Parts.
Peter will be remembered for his love of motorcycle riding, his skill at woodworking, and the pleasure he took in working on cars and tending his yard. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, and very proud grandfather — building things for his grandchildren, keeping their cars safe, and spending as much time with them as he could. He is survived by his loving wife Cathy (Peters) Klassen of Straffordville; their sons Daniel, John, and Isaac; their grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and eight siblings and their families. He was predeceased by his parents and one sister.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at Straffordville Evangelical Mission Church, followed by a funeral service of remembrance at 2 p.m. officiated by Pastor Abe Berg, with interment in Straffordville Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice or to privately assist a family in need. Arrangements were entrusted to Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes of Tillsonburg.
