Marija Vabic of Burnaby, British Columbia died on September 25, 2026 at the age of 93. Born January 9, 1933 in Maribor, Slovenia, she translated for Allied forces in WWII, escaped Soviet Yugoslavia on foot, and joined her husband in Canada in 1963. She was predeceased by her husband Stanko and son Stanislaw. A funeral service and interment were held October 15, 2026; arrangements were in the care of Ocean View Funeral Home & Burial Park.
