He was predeceased by: his wife Denise; his son Daniel; his parents, Gertrude and Jack; and his siblings, John and Eileen.
He is survived by: his son Bob Ryan (Viki); his daughter-in-law Gloria Ryan (Daniel); his grandchildren, Mark (Elsy), Jonathan (Lauren), Patrick [Naomi], Andrea (Cory) and Stephanie Ryan; his great grandchildren, Madison, Matteo, Shayne and August; Denise. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Barnes Memorial Funeral Home (5295 Thickson Rd N, Whitby, ON L1M1W9). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Barnes Memorial Funeral Home Chapel (5295 Thickson Rd N, Whitby, ON L1M1W9).
In lieu of flowers, Bill would have appreciated donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, where, as a volunteer, Denise led the daffodil campaigns in Montréal for more than 15 years. Donations are being accepted for: CANADIAN CANCER SOCIETY – SOCIÉTÉ CANADIENNE DU CANCER (CANADIAN CANCER SOCIETY – SOCIETE CANADIENNE DU CANCER).
