Nancy Gardham

October 17, 2026

nancy gardham

Peacefully, on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at her residence in Port Perry, surrounded by people who cared for her, in her 89th year. Nancy Gardham of Port Perry, loving mother of Margo Fairburn (Nils Connor) and Hilary McPherson (Greg). Cherished Grammy of Sarah, Luke, Lydia (Emily Lawless), and Kaiden. Predeceased by her parents Hilda and Samuel Gardham, her sister Barbara Martin, and her brother Donald Gardham.

A lifelong learner, gifted teacher, primary school and church choir director, and passionate artist, Nancy poured boundless love into her roles as a mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was beautifully social, endlessly curious about the world, and deeply invested in the people around her. True to herself until the very end, she lived and died unapologetically on her own terms.

A special thank you to her wonderful PSW’s, Debby, Kim, and Pam, as well as to her neighbourhood brigade of carers who were always there to support Nancy.

The family of Nancy Gardham will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171) on Friday, November 6th from 2 – 4 p.m. and at the Anglican Church of the Ascension, 274 North Street in Port Perry on Saturday, November 7th from 10 – 11 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment at Pine Grove Cemetery following a short reception in the parish hall. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Anglican Church of the Ascension. Memories, photos and condolences may be shared at www.waggfuneralhome.com
