Passed away peacefully at Oak Ridges Hospice in Port Perry on October 27, 2026, at the age of 61, with her daughters by her side. A designer, writer, cyclist and devoted mother, Robyn was creative, fiercely independent and strong in her faith. She saw beauty everywhere and spent her life making things beautiful for the people she loved.

Robyn Joy Beaty was born in Jackson’s Point to Joyce and James Beaty. She was the seventh daughter of eight children and loved to talk about growing up paddling on the lake.

Robyn was a devoted mother who raised her daughters to be independent and creative and to never give up on their dreams. For as long as anyone can remember, they were known as “Robyn and the girls.” She spent a lifetime holding her girls close, and in the end it was Sydney Joy Dookwah and Courtney Dookwah who held her as she took her last breath.

Robyn was a talented designer. While raising her daughters, she went back to school and built her own design business, which was later bought by a global advertising agency. That creativity and drive showed up everywhere in her life. She made handmade cards, wrapped gifts beautifully and set the most magical Christmas tables.

She was a wonderful cook who made healthy, gourmet meals with unmatched quality and care. Her home was filled with laughter and warmth and usually smelled of her famous almond chocolate cookies or another made-from-scratch creation from her kitchen.

Robyn loved cycling and being outdoors. She shared that love with her grandson Quentin from the time he was small. The two of them rode the trails on their tandem bike, once all the way from Richmond Hill to downtown Toronto, stopping at Baskin-Robbins for her favourite pralines and cream. Her days on the trails came to an end, but her passions live on in Quentin.

In her later years, Robyn faced serious health challenges that took away the active, outdoor life she loved. She met them with courage and hope. She did her own research, advocated for herself throughout her health care journey and never stopped looking for ways to heal. She stayed independent and true to what she believed, and her faith in God gave her strength.

Robyn valued honesty and real conversation. She was a thoughtful listener and a truth teller who pushed the people she loved to grow and learn every day. She was known for long phone calls and laughter with close friends, her sisters, and her daughters, full of advice and comfort. Whenever you came to a crossroads, you called Robyn. She held her friends and family close, and though her own time was short, she gave hers freely, and always with unconditional love.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters Sydney Joy Dookwah and Courtney Dookwah, her grandson Quentin Leo Karhu-Dookwah, her siblings, her extended family and all who loved her.

A celebration of Robyn’s life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your local hospice. Oak Ridges Hospice gave Robyn and her daughters the safety, love and comfort they needed on the last day of her life.

May she ride freely now along the most beautiful trails, in peace and in the love of God.

Forever loved. Forever cherished. Forever our Mum.
