Man in Toronto hockey jersey smiling indoors.ANWEILER, Eric "Moose"  -
March 3, 1956 – July 18, 2024

North Toronto Memorial Arena's longtime General Manager and a fixture in the North Toronto community. Eric was a very proud and loving husband to Pat; father to Erin (Aaron Sellon) and John (Andrew McKenzie); grandfather to Harper, and Tyler; and brother to Leona. Predeceased by his parents, John and Ruth; daughter, Andrea; and grandson, Carter.

Eric, known lovingly as Moose to all who knew him, played his minor hockey at North Toronto Memorial Arena growing up.

A lifelong Leafs (and Argos) fan, he was a formidable force on the ice and the baseball diamond in his youth. Eric joined the arena staff in 1969 under the tutelage of Ross Blatchford (Christie's dad), before becoming the Arena's General Manager.

He loved North Toronto Arena and took great pride in making it the best rink in the City. He was very proud and fond of his staff at the arena, as they were of him. Eric's office was open to all as he welcomed you with a greeting like no other, including a most loving fist bump.

Please join Eric's family to celebrate his life at the North Toronto Arena, 174 Orchard View Blvd., Toronto, on Sunday, August 11th, from 5 to 8 p.m. Some reflections to be shared at 6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to Salvation Army North Toronto Community Church (ntcomm unitychurch.com) would be appreciated by the family.
