MONTOJO, Melchor 'Sonny- On Saturday morning, February 13, 2021, Melchor (Sonny) Montojo, loving husband, Dad and Lolo, passed away at age 62.
Sonny was born on January 6, 1959 in the Philippines to Jose Wilson Montojo and Eulalia Platon. He was educated in economics and was in computers, in the banking industry, most of his career life.
On April 23, 1983, he married Gina Divinagracia.
They raised their only daughter, Sheila, who with her husband Eddie gave them their only grandson, Elliott.
Elliott was his pride and joy! Sonny dotted on him, spoiled him, simply loved him. He loved people and so have made many, many, many friends.
He was very respectful of elders, loved children, was a fun uncle and, so, was well-loved by his nieces and nephews. And he loved dogs. Sonny was known for his quick wit, his easy smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit.
A person who focused on the happy, Sonny easily was the life of the party with his stories and laughs. It was never boring with Sonny.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Diabetes Canada or the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Isaac Jogues Roman Catholic Jogues 1148 Finch Ave., Pickering on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. and the interment will follow immediately following the Funeral Mass.
All services are private by invitation only through the family, due to COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS.
