MacDONALD, James Allan   -  June 14, 1963 - February 7, 2022

With broken hearts, we the family, announce the sudden passing of Jim MacDonald on Monday, February 7, 2022, at his home in Goodwood, ON. Born in Sydney, NS on June 14, 1963, and raised in Westmount, Jim was the son of Dolena (MacNeil) and the late Cyril MacDonald.

Besides his father, Jim was predeceased by twin brothers in infancy, maternal grandparents, Mary Catherine and Allan J. MacNeil, Christmas Island, paternal grandparents, Margaret and Jimmy P. MacDonald, Sydney/Ottawa Brook, and mother and father-in-law, Gérard (Jeff) and Marilyn Lafleur, Wentworth, Quebec.

Jim will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife, Caroline Lafleur, his mom, Dolena, sisters, Beverly (Richard) Coldham, Cole Harbour, Cathy, brothers, Doug (Marie), Ottawa Brook, and Garrett (Janet), Coxheath, sister-in-law Dara-Lyn Lafleur, Lachute, QC and brother-in-law, Daniel Lafleur, Mont Tremblant, QC.

He is also survived by nieces, Melanie (Johnnie), Sara (Jeff), Emily (Matt) and nephews, Bill Coldham, Riley, Thomas and Matthew MacDonald along with grand nieces and nephews.  He will be missed by his faithful canine companion, Hero.

Jim graduated from the Cape Breton Regional Vocational School, moved to Ontario in the early 80’s and was the owner/president of Breton Mechanical Inc. He was loved by many and known as a hard working, kind and compassionate man.

Funeral mass and burial will be held at Holy Rosary Church, Westmount at a later date.  

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
