CLAPP, Ruth Dorraine (Preston) Clapp - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Ruth on March 12, 2022 in her 99th year.
Predeceased by her loving husband of 71 years, Stewart Clapp (2015), infant daughter Darlene and six siblings.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters Sandra (Eric), Debbie and Corrine (Andrew).
Ruth also leaves behind her loving grandchildren Derek, Ryan (Cayley), Robyn (Steve), Travis and Autumn (Keegan). Proud great grandmother to Cruz and Koa.
Will always be fondly remembered by her brother-in-law Graham Clapp.
Ruth was a Sears Canada employee for 25 years and, during World War II, proudly served the war effort by working as a ‘bomb girl’ in Ajax.
In her final years, while residing at The Village of Taunton Mills, she was proud of her many unique, hand-knit baby hats which she donated to local hospitals.
We would like to express our deep appreciation to all staff members at The Village of Taunton Mills Long Term Care in Whitby for the kindness and compassion they showed.
A service to celebrate Ruth’s life will take place at Mount Lawn Funeral HomE, Whitby, on Thursday, March 17, 2022 with visitation beginning at 1:30 followed by a service in the chapel at 2:30.
