Chaplin PhilipCHAPLIN, Philip Anthony Chaplin   -  October 15, 1949 - March 10, 2022

Philip Anthony Chaplin arrived from England shortly after his first birthday.

He was born on October 15, 1949 and sadly passed away on March 10th, 2022 surrounded by his family.

He spent the 72 years of his life bringing an unimaginable amount of joy to those around him.

From his youth, he adopted a love of classic cars, fast cars, the mechanics of cars and Valerie, who later went on to become Mrs. Chaplin.

Together they built a loving home with 3 adored sons, Matthew, Andrew and Thomas all of which inherited Philips's tender heart and loving nature.

Phil by trade was an electrician like his father and a business owner for over 30 years.

A hard worker, he took pride in a job well done and was a man of integrity, honouring the shake of a hand.

Phil loved to welcome others into his home with a Keg Burger or a cup of coffee.

It wasn’t uncommon to catch Phil talking the ear off of anyone who would listen.

He was never known to be short on conversation and his humour was often quick to make an appearance as he found great joy in teasing others with witty banter and the all too frequent “Dad Joke”.

The fondest memories of those who knew him are without question full of laughter, kindness and humility as he touched many hearts in many ways over his lifetime.

Phil approached even the most difficult times, with strength and love, wanting nothing more than to be at home surrounded by his family. This last time was no different.

Losing Phil is an unimaginable loss that will forever leave its mark on all of our hearts, but we may rest, assured, that we will be welcomed in the future with a hot coffee, Keg burger and Phil with his cheeky grin.

Phil will be lovingly remembered by his wife Valerie, children Matthew and Thomas (Stephanie), brother Gary (Patti), his extended family Heather (Fred), Tom (Carol), Marilyn (Craig), the late (Bill), Karen, his best friend Rick (Rose) for many decades, Aunt Dawn, cousins Janis, Marilyn (Ron), Trevor and his many nieces and nephews.

Phil would definitely want it mentioned that he was the reigning Monopoly Champion over Ryane and Leland.

He will be greeted with joy by his son Andrew, father Reg, mother Joan and his Uncle Tony who all pre-deceased him.

In the Fall a Celebration of Life will be held on Phil’s October 15th birthday.

Condolences may be offered at etouch.ca .
