MCEACHERN, Dorothy Amelia “Dodie” (nee Lewis) McEachern - Passed away peacefully with family by her side at Hillsdale Estates on Sunday, July 17th, 2022, 12 days short of her 99th birthday.
Beloved wife of the late Donald McEachern. Loving mother of Donald (Marie Majcher), Rick (Jing Wang) and Wendy Topham (Derek Nurse).
Cherished “Dodie” of Scott (Mandy), Steve (Vicki), Jessica (Kolin), Alana (Shawn) and the late Jill.
Great “Dodie” to Nicholas, Emma, Abby, Kaiser and Aloe.
Dear sister of Grace Stolar (late Lloyd), predeceased by her brothers and war hero the late Pilot Officer Gilbert “Allen” Lewis and Stewart Lewis.
She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was born in Kindersley, SK on a wheat farm during the Great Depression and relocated to Ajax, ON during WWII, working as a “Bomb Girl”.
She was an Executive Member of CAW/Unifor Local 222 family auxiliary for 46 years. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, raising her family in Oshawa. “She was fierce in her beliefs for everything that is "just" in this world. Thank you to "ALL" the staff at Honey Harbour Hillsdale Estates for their amazing care and compassion.
Visitation will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (365-800-4833) on Tuesday, August 2nd from 12:30 p.m. until time of Memorial Service in the chapel at 1:30 p.m. Service will be livestreamed and can be viewed at the following link: https://funeraweb.tv/diffusions/57476
