Unexpectedly, at his home on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 71 years of age. Dear son of the late Mavis and Bertis. Loving father of Lauren, Corey (Natalie), Brandon, and Brittany. Devoted Grandpa of Jules, Isaiah, Aliyah, and Delilah. Lovingly remembered by his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.

Bert was loved by many and had a gift for turning strangers into friends. He will be fondly remembered as someone who brought people together through his cooking, his humour, and his quick wit. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and proudly cheering, and occasionally yelling, from the stands at his kids’ hockey games.

Though he was taken too soon, Bert leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and unforgettable memories. He will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Visitation will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West on Tuesday June 3rd from 4 – 8 p.m. Celebration of Life will be held in the chapel on Wednesday June 4th at 10:30 a.m. Donations to Heros Hockey or Humane Society of Durham Region would be appreciated.
