Campbell MartinCAMPBELL, Martin James Campbell  -   

April 30, 1937 - December 19, 2023

 

Aged 86, passed away on December 19, 2023, at Centenary Hospital, Scarborough, after a valiant battle with Myasthenia Graves, an autoimmune disorder.

 

Born on April 30, 1937, in Toronto, ON, Martin was the son of James Campbell and Annie (Nann) Smith.

 

Martin attended Western Technical-Commercial School, laying the foundation for a successful career.

 

He worked as a Computer Technician through the 1970s, 80s, and 90s, contributing his skills to companies like Four Phase and Motorola.

 

 

Later in life, he found joy working at Home Depot and dedicated his time to volunteer at Centenary Hospital, where his true talent flourished - the "Gift of Gab".

 

Martin is survived by his three sons, their loving spouses, and grandchildren: Wayne Campbell and Nellie Campbell (Colby, Curtis), Jeff Campbell and Rebecca Campbell, Scott Campbell and Terry Walford (Jennifer).

 

Additionally, he is survived by two stepsons, Christopher Langshmidt and Joan Langshmidt (Kaiden, Talia), Carl Langshmidt and Dawnie Langshmidt (Lily).

 

Martin was predeceased by wife Patricia Ann Luthrmann, and previous marriage to Rosanne Cross A devoted family man, Martin embraced life with enthusiasm. He was a proud Toronto Maple Leaf’s fan and had a passion for collecting model ships and nautical memorabilia.

 

His love for travel led him to become a snowbird in Florida, where he enjoyed, golf, bocce ball, and many more friendships. Martin's personal attributes were a testament to his character.

 

He radiated innocence and kindness, leaving an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. His infectious positive attitude and the joy he found in conversation endeared him to all, making each interaction a cherished memory.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests raising awareness for Myasthenia Gravis through the Myasthenia Gravis Society of Canada at https://mgcanada.org/about/nada Martin James Campbell will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.

 

May he rest in eternal peace.
