Passed away suddenly on January 4th, 2024 surrounded by his family.

 

Mike, in his 69th year, leaves behind his other half Liesbeth (Sanders).

 

Proud dad of Miranda Sluys and Stephanie & Kristopher White.

 

Adored Opa to Adaline Sluys, Willem Sluys and Kallum White.

 

Dear brother to Peter Sluys (Elsie) and Carolee Wuis-Black (Steve).

 

Cherished brother-in-law of Maria (deceased), Hans, Jack & Doris, Aloys & Annie, Nico & Marina, Jos & Sonja, Wilma & John Kowalczyk, Roland & Cory, Madeleine (deceased) & Mona Gagnon, and Paul.

 

Uncle to Douglas (Ester), Christopher, Jennifer (Pete), Samatha (Justin), Jessica (Jamie), Trevor, Bradley, Jonathan (Stephanie), Matthew, Kyle, Temple, Phillip, Monique (Mark), Ian, Nicole, Marissa (Jason), Jared, Tianna, Kelson, Alyssa, Benjamin, Meghan, and Amanda (Brian).

 

Great Uncle to Shawn (and his daughter Pheonix), Brandon, Vanessa, Quinton, Evelyn, Benjamin, Zachary, Kaitlyn, Peyton and Rowan.

 

Mike was a devoted husband of 47 years to his other half Liesbeth. He was always surrounded by his family and enjoyed every moment with them.

 

Mike was a proud retiree from his career with Plumbers & Pipefitters Union Local 463/401 and was always learning and striving to achieve new levels of his job including being a Teacher to many young minds. Mike loved golf, especially with Liesbeth and his son-in-law Kris.

 

He adored his grandchildren and spent his time with them fixing, building, digging, playing, learning and laughing. He had every tool available to teach the kids how to be handy like their Opa.

 

Resting at the  ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME  124 King Street East Oshawa on Thursday January 11, 2024 from 5 – 8 pm A funeral service will take place in the funeral home Chapel on Friday January 12, 2024 at 11 am.

 

Memorial donations to the Canadian Premature Babies Foundation or Make-A-Wish Foundation would be appreciated, and may be made, along with condolences by visiting  armstrongfh.ca .
