Moulton HaroldMOULTON, Harold Gordon Moulton   -   Passed away peacefully on April 22, 2024 with his daughters by his side. He has been reunited with Violet, his beloved wife and best friend of nearly 74 years.

Cherished dad to daughters Carolyn DeSimone (Dennis) and Cathy Hewett (Jeff); loving and very special Poppy to granddaughters Danielle Stewart (Dan), Brianna MacLeish, Courtney Spence (Chris) and Casey Hewett; beloved Great Poppy to Rylie Stewart, Jayden Stewart, Adeline Spence, and William Spence, and reunited with great grandson Tyler Cardis.

Harold was born in Tillsonburg, Ontario and lived with his parents and grandparents on the family farm in Dereham Township.

He later moved to Ingersoll, then Woodstock and back to the family farm before joining the army at age 17 in June of 1944. After leaving the army, Harold worked in the pottery business and became a very gifted “mold maker”.

In April of 1956, Harold moved his family to Lindsay, Ontario and began working at Ontario Block & Tile in Sunderland. They moved to Sunderland in 1958 where he raised his family and was a very active member of the community.

He was a member of the Sunderland Lions Club for 65 years, served on Council for the Township of Brock and built many lifelong friendships.

Harold retired in 1987 and enjoyed many hours of woodworking creating beautiful decorative pieces, puzzles for children and many other projects where he could use his amazing artistic talents.

Harold and Vi spent their winters in Lakeland, Florida for many years where they enjoy annual visits from their daughters and granddaughters. When that chapter of their lives was finished, they moved to Oshawa to be closer to family. It didn’t take long for their new home in Oshawa to have it’s own woodworking shop and Harold’s green thumb tending his backyard gardens were the envy of anyone who visited.

Harold once again continued his love of community work and started driving the bus for the Oshawa Senior Citizens Centre where again, he built amazing friendships.

At 92 years old, Harold and Vi moved from their home into Harmony Hill Retirement Community where they were able to enjoy many new friendships and fun activities.

Harold is predeceased by his parents Morris and Gladys Moulton and his beloved sister Gloria Hutson. He is survived by sisters, Moreen Reed and Lynn Murty.

Donations in Harold’s memory can be made to the War Amps Canada, The Salvation Army or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. followed by a celebration of Harold’s wonderful life at  MOUNT LAWN FUNERAL HOME & CEMETERY, 21 Garrard R. Whitby, Ontario.
