Steenson ElizabethSTEENSON, Elizabeth "Lily" Steenson  -   Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished member of the community, passed away on May 1, 2024, at the age of 84.

She was born on May 12, 1939, in Belfast, Ireland, to her loving parents Rosetta and Arthur, and her vibrant spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.

Lily's journey was one of love, family, and adventure.

After Leaving Belfast in 1961 later that same year on August 12th she married the love of her life, James "Jimmy" Steenson, and together they embarked on a new chapter, in Canada.

Lily embraced her new home with open arms, immersing herself in the Canadian way of life while still holding onto her cherished Irish roots

As a devoted mother, Lily poured her heart and soul into raising her two sons, Sean (Caroline) and James, alongside her husband Jimmy. Her love knew no bounds, and she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to providing them with a nurturing and supportive upbringing. Lily's greatest joy came from watching her family grow, welcoming grandchildren Christian, Riley(Sarah), Rachel(John), Jordan(Nick), Aubrie, Matthew, Nicholas, and great-granddaughter Emma who was born early this year.

Lily is also survived by sisters Bernie and Rosie and brother Jim (Joanne) and many nephews and nieces.

Lily worked for 35 years with Novopharm Pharmaceuticals at two Locations 2010 Ellesmere and 30 Novopharm Court. She worked in the Packaging Dept. as she was known affectionally as “Ms Lil”.

Lily’s love of sports always came through as she was an avid hockey fan as well as soccer and rarely missed any games that involved the Maple Leafs or Manchester United.

Her kindness, compassion, and unwavering strength left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Her gentle smile could light up even the darkest of days, and her strength and determination helped her build a beautiful life for her family. She had a knack for making everyone feel special and loved, and her legacy of love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Lily leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will be carried on by her devoted family and all who were touched by her kindness. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all.

Rest in peace, Ma. Your love will live on in our hearts forever.
