Nancy Lea (Mosolf) Van Duyn

May 25, 1958 ~ November 9, 2024 (age 66)

Nancy Van Duyn passed away peacefully with family by her side at Oak Ridges Hospice, Port Perry, on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the age of 66. She was the cherished wife and best friend of Norm Van Duyn, and a devoted mother to her sons, Jason and Justin, and daughter-in-law, Jade. Nancy was a beloved Grandma to Nixon, Weston, Layne, Oaklin, and Laken, and is also survived by her sister, Tracy.

Nancy graduated from Durham College and began her career in office administration, working with various banks and later with Investors Group and Clintar, retiring in January 2021. She had a passion for the outdoors, especially in her garden, and she loved entertaining, often planning menus with care when invited to friends' cottages. She enjoyed Tuesday evenings golfing with the ladies at Wyndance and was known for discussing both the game and her menu ideas with Norm. Winter brought her joy in Thornbury, where she skied and honed her snow carving skills. Nancy’s meticulous organizational skills were evident in her vacation planning, and she found joy in attending her grandchildren’s school sporting events. Throughout her health challenges over the past three years, Nancy maintained a positive outlook on life.

A special thank you to Dr. Ahmed and staff at Uxbridge Health Centre, Dr. Conrad and Dr. Zibdawi at Stronach Regional Cancer Centre, and to Oak Ridges Hospice in Port Perry for their compassionate care.

A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at Wooden Sticks Golf Club, 40 Elgin Park Dr., Uxbridge, on Sunday, December 1, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Oak Ridges Hospice, Port Perry, would be appreciated by the family. Friends may send condolences or make donations by visiting www.lowandlow.ca.
