It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our brother, Gregory Washington, on December 4th, 2024.
Predeceased by his parents, Robert and Karen Washington. Dear brother of Karen Lynne Ashmore (Philip) and Cindy Anne Washington (Rob). Adored uncle of Nicholas Alexander and Justin Philip Ashmore.
Greg will be lovingly remembered by his extended family and friends. He enjoyed cooking, watching funny movies, silly memes, and adored all animals. He always held a special place in his heart for his beloved dog, Trixie.
Please join the family to Celebrate Greg’s life on Saturday, December 14th at Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a Service at 2:00 PM.

Cremation will follow, and a private family interment of ashes will take place in the future at Oshawa Union Cemetery, where he will join his parents for eternity.

McMurray, Dean Allan
Passed away with his family by his side on Monday, December 2, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Dean, in his 66th year, leaves behind his beloved wife Barbara.
Dear son of Helen and the late Richard. Predeceased by his daughter Sandra Randall, March 1, 2024. Loved stepdad of Graeme Dyrseth (Amber) and Annalise Dyrseth. Cherished granddad of Conner, Colt, Winter, and the late Gavin, Epiphany, and Bensen. Dear brother of Gail Helm (Mark), Ron McMurray (Holly), and Don McMurray (Dana). Dean will be sadly missed by his many extended family and friends.
Dean was a logger by trade, which took him to work in Northern and Eastern Ontario. He loved his job and enjoyed operating the heavy equipment that accompanied the logging industry. Dean and Barbara cherished living on their boat from 2015 until his illness in early 2024. He was a homebody who loved sharing stories about his work in logging and enjoyed his time boating, working, and spending time on the water.
Please join with the family on Saturday, December 7th, at 2 PM to celebrate Dean’s life at a Memorial Service held at Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa. Visitation will be held from 1 PM to 2 PM prior to the service. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dean to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Multiple Sclerosis Society would be appreciated by the family.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Don. Devoted mother of Terri Schirmer (Hans) and Troy Cheseboro (Laura). Cherished grandmother of Emily (Brian), Jonathan (Kaitlyn), and Alexis. Dear sister of Dan, Darlene, Betty, and the late Gail.

Barbara, a beloved aunt and friend, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2024, at the age of 74. Known for her warm smile, infectious laughter, and unwavering kindness, Barbara spent her days nurturing her loved ones and bringing joy to those around her.
Barbara was the beloved sister of Henryk, Bogdan, Andrej, and Halina. She was a dear aunt to Eva, Edita, Milena, and Ilona, and a great-aunt to Christopher, Julie, Tyler, Caroline, Spencer, and Brandon. She was also a cherished friend to Diane and Lisa. Barbara will be deeply missed by all her family and friends in Canada and Poland, who will forever remember her as a source of love and support. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all she touched.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 4-8 p.m., with Prayers at 4 p.m., at Armstrong Funeral Home (124 King St. E., Oshawa). A Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel. Interment will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery (355 Taunton Rd. E., Whitby).

Gonta, Mabel Mary, at the age of 93, passed away peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Extendicare Nursing Home. Our family is thankful to all of the wonderful and caring nurses, PSW’s, and support staff at Extendicare.
Mabel was the beloved wife of Stephen and the devoted mother of Danny and Peter. She was the mother-in-law of Chris and the grandmother of Ethan. She is survived by her younger brother Walter and his wife Doris. She is predeceased by her sister Ann Iwaskiw and her husband William (Bill). She is also remembered by her nephews Patrick, Andrew, Walter, and Steven.
Mabel was a volunteer of the women's group, Barvinok, at St. John’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, which raised money for the Church and charities. She was a very dedicated and respected member of the Church for decades. Mabel was a dedicated employee at a credit bureau in Oshawa for many years.
She enjoyed travelling to many different places with her family, such as France, other parts of Europe, and Ukraine. In Canada, she loved to travel by car to all the provinces, and in the USA, she traveled extensively to many states such as California, Colorado, and Florida. Mabel will be greatly missed. May she rest in peace.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Temistocle "Temi" Pietrelli on November 28, 2024, at the age of 81. Temi passed away peacefully at Welland General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Beloved husband of Maria (Mary) Pietrelli (nee Rotella) for many wonderful years, Temi was a devoted father to Linda Sardella (Domenic) and Loriann Muscat (Michael). He was a cherished Papa to Nicolas (Lauren), Jessica (Nick), Megan Sardella, and Joshua Muscat. Temi is survived by his twin brother Gary Pietrelli (MaryAnn) and many extended family members, including in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
Born in Montemaggiore, Pesaro, Italy, Temi immigrated to Canada in 1960. He worked at Inco for 19 years and John Deere for 17 years as a welder. Temi was a proud member of the Italian Canadian Culture Centre, Port Colborne Bocce Club, and the Italian Hall Shuffleboard League. He found joy in his garden, especially tending to his cherished fig trees, and was well-known for his homemade wine, soppressata, and passatelli. Temi’s helping hands and humorous personality will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will take place at Armstrong Funeral Home & Chapel, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne, on Monday, December 2, 2024, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., with vigil prayers at 3:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at St. Therese of Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, 379 Fares Street, Port Colborne, at 10:30 a.m., followed by burial at Mount St. Joseph Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank the palliative care nurses, PSWs, and Northland Pointe Day Program staff for their compassionate care. Donations in Temi’s memory may be made to St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church or the Alzheimer Society of Canada – Niagara Region.
