Christine O’Brien

1933 – December 17, 2024

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Christine “Chris” O’Brien (Gillissie) on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at the age of 91.

Chris was the loving mother to Danny (Tammy), Terry, Billy (Bonnie), Anne-Marie (Heath), and Heather (Monty). She was a proud grandmother, great-grandmother, and recently, a great-great-grandmother. Predeceased by her husband John O’Brien and her parents Charles and Catherine Gillissie. Beloved sister of Mary, Jim, Frankie, Ron, Mike, and the late Tom, Theresa, Eleanor, and Cathie.

Chris had a remarkable gift for forging deep and lasting relationships. She was known for her kindness, wit, and sparkle, which drew people to her. Always ready to share a laugh or a heartfelt conversation, Chris maintained strong ties with family and friends throughout her life. She considered her most important role to be a devoted mother and grandmother, and her love and humour will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staff at Perley Health for their care, support, and kindness towards Chris.
