Kip Alfred Frank Chaput, 89 years of age, of Brampton, Ontario, passed away on December 13, 2024, at Bethell Hospice in Inglewood, Ontario, surrounded by his family. At his request, there will be no funeral or celebration of life.
Kip was born in Mattawa, Ontario, to Fred and Sybil Chaput on November 8, 1935. Shortly after, his family moved to Sudbury, where he grew up. Kip’s years in the Royal Canadian Air Force brought him many great memories and numerous wonderful friends. He joined Air Canada in 1965 and retired as Captain in 1995. His pride and joy was his Cessna 180 CF-NRO, which he continued to fly in the Lake Penage area until 2023.
Known as a wonderful storyteller and a tough fighter pilot to the end, Kip is survived by his sons, Kent (Cindi) of Georgetown and Kip (Lydia) of Edmonton; his grandson Kristopher (Alex); and his great-granddaughter Klover of Flamborough. He will be sadly missed by Eleanor Colbert and Terry and Susan Wright. Kip was predeceased by his wife, Anne, his parents Fred and Sybil, and his brother Lee.

It is with great sadness that the family of Ascensina Purchio announces her peaceful passing on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Georgetown Hospital, at the age of 83.
Ascensina was the beloved mother of Carla (Gilbert) Evangelho of Georgetown and a loving Nonna to Natalie and Nicholas. She is predeceased by her parents Oreste and Maria DeVincenzo. Ascensina will be fondly remembered by her sister Julia (Pasquale) Gargano and was predeceased by her siblings Michelina Purchio (late Michele), Lucrezia Calleo (late Domenico), Antonio DeVincenzo (Yolande), Licia Hryniewicz (late John), Nicolino DeVincenzo (late Nella), and Michelina Purchio (late Michele).
A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 14400 Argyll Road, Georgetown, on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., with a reception to follow in the Holy Cross Parish Hall.
In memory of Ascensina, memorial contributions to Holy Cross Catholic Church or the Georgetown Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered support and kind words during this difficult time. Ascensina’s legacy of love, faith, and family will remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Dan Capobianco on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at his home in Georgetown. Dan was in his 61st year and was the beloved father of Tyler (Kierstin) of Guelph. He was the cherished son of the late Elena and Noe Capobianco, and the dear brother of Joe (Monica) of Port Colborne. Dan will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephew, Alicia (Matthew), Amy (Jordan), and Evan, as well as his great-nieces and nephews, Adalynn, Mia, Noah, and Max.
Dan’s passion for life was expressed through his love of fishing, and he was an avid sports fan who also enjoyed golfing, camping, and spending time outdoors. His family will always remember him for his caring nature and wonderful sense of humour, which brought joy to those around him.
Friends are invited to attend the visitation at Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown, on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Liturgy will take place in the chapel on Thursday at 11 a.m., followed by a reception in the Trafalgar Room. Memorial contributions to the Canadian Association for Mental Health would be greatly appreciated by the family.
