Dear brother to Marion (Robert) Hewines. Predeceased by his siblings Audrey Andrews and Wallace Wilson.

Robert (Bob) Wilson was born in Toronto, the first child of Robert and Verna Wilson. From a young age, he devoted his life to serving his Lord and Saviour. Growing up, he attended the Salvation Army, learning the trombone and playing in the band.

Bob married the love of his life, Dianne, in 1957. Early in their married life, they started attending a Baptist Church, where they raised their family. Over the years, he used his gift of music to minister in many churches.

Bob was a devoted family man who loved Dianne, his wife of 67 years, and their five children, whom he worked hard to provide for. Bob started his career as a Butcher, and then shortly after marrying Dianne, he became a Toronto Firefighter, serving the city for thirty years.

Bob loved his brass band music, baseball, and reminiscing about his firefighting career. But above all, he loved and dedicated himself to his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

We can rest assured that our Dad is now safe with God and has heard the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

His career led him from Winnipeg to major Canadian cities and then to Sevenoaks, England, where he spent 20 wonderful years. As a senior executive with Philips Electronics, Dick traveled widely and built a network of friendships around the world. He was also a devoted golfer, nature lover, and storyteller, who cherished time spent at Ingolf and Lake of the Woods.

Dick and Bunnie returned to Canada in 2006, settling at a peaceful lakeside home their family affectionately called “Greenacres.” There, he enjoyed retirement, bird watching, and visits from family and friends. He will be remembered for his wit, warmth, wisdom, and the love he shared with all who knew him.

The family will host a Celebration of Life at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice or the Canadian Wildlife Federation are appreciated, in honour of Dick’s lifelong love for nature and wildlife.

Sleep well, dear Dick, and enjoy your reunion over the rainbow bridge with your best canine companions—Taffy, MacDuff, Tara—and all the grand-dogs who adored walking beside you.
