Words cannot express the deep sense of loss felt by family, friends, and customers with the passing of Jeffrey Franklin Jerome Edge on December 1, 2024, after a brave battle with cancer. Jeff entered the loving arms of our Heavenly Father at the age of 68.
Born to the late Frank and Elsie Edge, Jeff was predeceased by his sister Nancy Marie Edge. He is survived by his beloved wife Maureen (Waters), cherished daughters Victoria Edge (Niki Tawse), Emeline (Brock Lalonde), and Rebecca (Geoff Hofsink), and treasured grandchildren Evaliah Hofsink, Michael Lalonde, Nevaeh, and Ryleigh McComb-Lalonde. Jeff will be dearly missed by his brother Jason (Christina) and nephew Paul Edge.
Jeff’s life was full of humor, determination, and unselfishness. A proud tradesman, he continued the family roofing business, Edge’s Roofing Co., passing it on to his daughter Emeline to carry on its legacy of honesty and quality. Beyond work, Jeff was known for his generosity, giving his time to help those in need through programs like the DeMazenod Door Outreach.
A visitation to celebrate Jeff’s life will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at P.X. Dermody Funeral Home, 796 Upper Gage Ave., Hamilton, ON. A funeral service will take place at St. Patrick’s Church, 440 King St. E., Hamilton, ON, on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., followed by burial at Resurrection Cemetery, 254 Garner Road West, Ancaster, ON.

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Elsie Mitchell, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at Lakeland Long Term Care in Parry Sound, Ontario. Elsie was a guiding matriarch for her family, creating countless memories and stories to cherish.
She is lovingly remembered by her children Rick, John (Veronica), and Karen, as well as her 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, with another baby due in May 2025. Elsie is predeceased by her dear son Clark and special son-in-law Paul.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Lakeland Long Term Care for their support during Elsie's final months and to the PX Dermody staff for their exceptional care and kindness.
Cremation has taken place. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, December 9, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Woodland Cemetery, Spring Gardens Road, Burlington, followed by a light lunch at Liuna Station on James St. N., Hamilton.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Bruce Murphy on December 2, 2024, at the age of 75. Bruce is now reunited with his beautiful wife, Shirley. He was a cherished Papa to Pamela (Mark) Craft, a loving grandfather to Ryan (Trish) Hagan, Keri (Darryl) Vos, Taylor (Aidan) Boose, and a devoted great-grandfather to Joshua, Natalie, Kelsey, Serena, and Elliott.
Bruce will be deeply missed by his cousins Sharon (the late John) Wawzkirewicz and Linda Devlon, as well as his entire family and many friends. He worked in finance for over 48 years, including a long tenure at Taylor Leibow LLP Accountants and Advisors. Bruce was also a proud volunteer at the HBSPCA and a true outdoorsman who loved nature and the company of animals.
A special thank you to the staff at the Hamilton General Hospital, especially the CCU, for their care and compassion during Bruce’s final days.

Ronald Murray Lightfoot
1942 - October 8, 2024
Ronald Murray Lightfoot passed away peacefully on October 8, 2024, in his 82nd year. He was the cherished husband of Evelyn B. (née Furry) for 56 years and a loving father to the late Mark (2010) and David. Ron was also a proud grandfather to Teagan and Jacob. He was affectionately known as "Ronnie" by his siblings Craig and Crystal, and he is predeceased by his brothers John and Wayne. He will be remembered fondly by his many nieces and nephews.
Ron worked as an Advertising Representative with The Hamilton Spectator for many years and was a proud member of the Road Runners Car Club. His passion for cars and his work in advertising left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Special thanks are extended to the caring staff of 3E at Juravinski Hospital for their wonderful care during his final days.
Family and friends will be received at Elliott Heights Baptist Church, 1300 Fennell Ave. E., on Saturday, October 26th, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. A private interment will take place at a later date. Rev. Amarnath Gill
1932 - October 8, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Rev. Amarnath Gill, at the age of 92, on October 8, 2024. Known for his deep love of God and gardening, Amarnath was the beloved husband of Rashida and devoted father of Rabina, Samson, Simon, Rina, and Gideon. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren: Rachel, Rahul, Joshua, Jeremiah, Janica, Jeniszka, Rebecca, Gabriella, Jessica, Janessa, Jania, Jeanisha, and his favorite companion pet, LeBron. He is also survived by his siblings Margaret, Elizabeth, Walter, Shalton, and Shakuntala. He was predeceased by Ujagar, Solomon, and Esther.
Amarnath led a life filled with many talents and trades. Originally from Punjab, India, he overcame significant adversity to bring his family to Canada in the 1970s. He was a farmer in Punjab and earned a teaching degree and a Master's in Punjabi language, dedicating many years to education, including teaching at a school for the blind in India. After immigrating to Canada, he continued farming while attending seminary school in Sarnia. His calling led him to help establish a small Indian congregation in Hamilton and to serve regularly at an Indian church in Mississauga. His commitment to both his faith and family will always be remembered.
Friends and family will be received at Harmony Baptist Church, 1763 Upper James St, Hamilton, on Saturday, October 19th, from 9 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Hamilton Cemetery.

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Catherine Juett announces her peaceful passing, surrounded by family, at St. Peter’s Hospital on October 6, 2024, at the age of 78. Catherine was the beloved partner of Charles MacGahey for 13 years. She was a loving mother to Georgina Juett (the late Gail), Jesse Bazinet (Alesha), and the late George Juett. Cherished grandmother of Kaylah Juett and Emmi Bazinet, and adored great-grandmother of Ryden and Luxlee Juett.
Catherine is also survived by her loving sisters Pat Hobbs, Maurine Beauregard, and Betty Workman. She will be deeply missed by her extended family and friends.
