1942 - October 8, 2024

Ronald Murray Lightfoot passed away peacefully on October 8, 2024, in his 82nd year. He was the cherished husband of Evelyn B. We extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Ronald Murray Lightfoot. May his memory bring comfort during this difficult time, and your thoughts and kind words are greatly appreciated.

Smiling man in suit portraitRev. Amarnath Gill
1932 - October 8, 2024

With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Rev. Amarnath Gill, at the age of 92, on October 8, 2024. Known for his deep love of God and gardening, Amarnath was the beloved husband of Rashida and devoted father of Rabina, Samson, Simon, Rina, and Gideon. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren: Rachel, Rahul, Joshua, Jeremiah, Janica, Jeniszka, Rebecca, Gabriella, Jessica, Janessa, Jania, Jeanisha, and his favorite companion pet, LeBron. He is also survived by his siblings Margaret, Elizabeth, Walter, Shalton, and Shakuntala. He was predeceased by Ujagar, Solomon, and Esther.

Amarnath led a life filled with many talents and trades. Originally from Punjab, India, he overcame significant adversity to bring his family to Canada in the 1970s. He was a farmer in Punjab and earned a teaching degree and a Master's in Punjabi language, dedicating many years to education, including teaching at a school for the blind in India. After immigrating to Canada, he continued farming while attending seminary school in Sarnia. His calling led him to help establish a small Indian congregation in Hamilton and to serve regularly at an Indian church in Mississauga. His commitment to both his faith and family will always be remembered.

Friends and family will be received at Harmony Baptist Church, 1763 Upper James St, Hamilton, on Saturday, October 19th, from 9 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Hamilton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Parkinson's Canada in memory of Rev. Amarnath Gill are welcomed.

We extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Rev. Amarnath Gill. May his life of service and love be a source of comfort to all who knew him during this difficult time.
