Passed peacefully, surrounded by family, at Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice on June 12, 2025, in his 83rd year.
He is survived by his loving wife Georgia (nee Murphy) of 35 years. He is lovingly remembered by siblings Joan McPhee, Bruce (Sheila) and Donna, as well as many sisters, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law of the Murphy family. Many nieces and nephews will remember him as a favorite uncle and great uncle.
Predeceased by sister Audrey and brothers-in-law Tom Gravestock and Les McPhee. Walter is now reunited with his parents Alice and William Scott.
He worked at Dofasco, Every Scale, Brinks and then 30 years at McMaster University Security. He proudly served 33 years as a member of the Hamilton Police Service Auxiliary Unit. He will always be remembered for the consistent love and support of family and friends.

Cremation services were held. Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 11 am until time of Memorial service at 1 pm at PX Dermody Funeral Home, 796 Upper Gage Ave. (between Mohawk and Fennell). Interment at a later date at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church in Irishtown, Prince Edward Island.
