Beverley Joan Campbell (née Watcher), of Belmont, Ontario, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on December 28, 2024, at the age of 84. Beloved wife for 67 years of the late Lenard Douglas Campbell (October 2024). Together again, hand in hand through eternity. Cherished mother of Cynthia (Bob) Nelson, Sherry Campbell, the late Lenard Campbell Jr. (Brenda), Trudy (Richard) Maresch, Rhonda Campbell, Douglas Campbell, the late Laura (Sylvain) Forgues, and Jackie (Charles) Forgues.
Beloved grandmother of Crystal (Steve) Abdey, the late Beverly Campbell, Jeremy (Christine) Campbell, Erin, Tyler, and Stephen Campbell, Ashley and Michael Maresch, Justin (Libbie), Renée, and Samantha Forgues. Dear great-grandmother of Matthew, Caylee, Danika, and Aria Abdey, Nicholas and Mona Campbell. Fondly remembered and dearly missed by her brother Robert (Shirley) Watcher, sister Sandy Metcalfe, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sisters Jacqueline (Gerald) Ball and Carol Ann Watcher.
Bev was a talented guitarist with a beautiful voice, loved her plants (and plants loved her), and was an avid reader and an impressive puzzle master. She was smart, strong, and resourceful during difficult times, always a generous hostess and the life of the party. She will be forever remembered for her love of music, dancing, and her unwavering strength.
Cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Shawn Jackson Funeral Home, 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570). A Celebration of Life will be held next spring when Beverley’s ashes will be reunited with her husband and soulmate at the St. Thomas Cemetery.

Hendrika (Ria) Bouius passed suddenly but peacefully into glory to be with her Saviour Jesus Christ on December 26, 2024. Her best friend and beloved husband of 54 years, Rudi, was at her side.
Ria was born in Holten, Netherlands, daughter of the late Arend and Jane Schipper. She immigrated to Canada at the age of 5, settling in the St. Thomas area. Ria studied to become a registered nurse at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital.
Rudi and Ria met at church and were married in 1970. Together, they were founding members of Fellowship CRC and active members of The Junction Church and the Cambodian Fellowship. Their home was always open to family, friends, and strangers, and they made it a point to stay connected with loved ones near and far.
Ria’s faith and love for her Lord were evident in her many acts of service. She was a devoted mother, an avid reader, and a kind friend to many. Her kindness, thoughtfulness, and servant heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Family will receive visitors at Shawn Jackson Funeral Home, 31 Elgin St., St. Thomas, on Wednesday, January 1st, 2025, from 2–4 PM and 7–9 PM. The funeral service will take place at The Junction Church, 320 Elm St., on Thursday, January 2nd, 2025, at 11 AM, with an additional visitation at the church from 10–10:45 AM. Interment will follow at Elmdale Memorial Park Cemetery. The service will also be livestreamed. Condolences can be shared at www.sjfh.ca.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stanley Balint, formerly of Glencoe and Grand Bend, who passed away peacefully at Bobier Villa on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at the age of 93. Stanley was the devoted husband of 64 years to the late Myrtle Balint (née Sutherland) and a cherished father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He leaves behind his beloved children, David (Susan) Balint of Princeton, Margaret (Rick) Piché of Manitoulin Island, Carolynn (Mario) Villalobos of London, and Barbara (Doug) Springall of Shedden.
Stanley will be deeply missed by his grandchildren and their families: Jordan (Joanna) Balint, Luke Balint, Elizabeth Balint, Nathan (Leah) Piché and their children Clara and Charlotte, Matthew (Emily) Piché and their children Wesley and Parker, Aimée (Tom) Anderson and their son Max, Jonathan (Cheryl) Villalobos and their children Eli, Lincoln, and Ellie, Daniel (Kim) Villalobos and their children Sophia, Olivia, and Edwin, and Tristan (Megan) Balint and their children Benji and Maddie. He is also fondly remembered by sister-in-laws Myrla Balint and Cheryl (late Ross) Sutherland, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Stanley was a beloved English teacher at Glencoe High School, where he inspired countless students, often taking them on educational trips to New York City, Paris, Costa Rica, and Washington, D.C. He was passionate about children’s ministries and actively contributed to his community. Stanley enjoyed hockey, golf, and traveling, leaving a legacy of warmth, adventure, and faith.
Visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home, 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Friday, November 15, 2024, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow in the chapel on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at South Park Cemetery. In memory of Stanley, donations to the Christian Service Centers of Canada – Key Bible Clubs would be appreciated by the family.
John William Lewis
1952 - 2024
John William Lewis of Sparta passed away peacefully, with his daughter by his side, at Sakura House in Woodstock on Friday, October 11, 2024, at the age of 72. Beloved father of Christine (Marty) Lewis and proud grandpa to Andrew and McKenna Dowe. John was a special friend to Annett and Richard Mathieu. He is predeceased by his parents, Bill and Doreen Lewis, and his brother, George.
John worked for over 41 years at Canadian Timken Co. in St. Thomas before retiring in 2012. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially riding his motorcycle to Port Dover every Friday the 13th, and tackling various projects around the farm. John will be remembered for his kind and generous heart, infectious laugh, and his immense strength and determination throughout his illness. He will be missed every day by those who knew and loved him.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff and volunteers at Sakura House, especially Cynthia, Megan, Jennifer, Hannah, Dr. Fryer, Janine, and the rest of the team, for their exceptional care, dignity, and compassion during John's final days.
Visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home, 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570), on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A private interment of ashes will take place at a later date in Elmdale Memorial Park Cemetery.
