Michael unexpectedly passed away at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at 66 years of age.

A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at Skwarchuk Funeral Home, Bradford on Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 1-3 p.m.

Roberta "Bertie" Sheppard

1947 – 2024

Bertie peacefully passed away, surrounded by her family, at Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, on Monday, December 23, 2024, at the age of 77. She was the beloved wife of the late Lee Sheppard and the loving mother of Matthew (Melanie) Sheppard, Krista Sheppard (Darryl Calarco), Donna (Garry Landl), Kathy (late Marvin Janse), and Lynn (Rick Martindale).

Bertie was a proud Nanny to Cole, Eamon; Sophya, Eavan, Zane; Michael, Sarah, Jenna; Chris, Greg; Lee, Jason, Steven, and Scott. She was also a cherished Great Nanny to Jackson, Levi, Abigail, Victoria, Colton, Taylor, Mac, Jaime, and Matteo.

Roberta was a remarkable woman who embodied both strength and kindness. She was fiercely protective of her loved ones and showed unwavering devotion as a caregiver to her parents, husband, children, and many of her grandchildren. Bertie was always present at hockey games, dance recitals, and birthday celebrations. She and Lee shared a love of boating, ballroom dancing, and long drives.

Bertie bravely battled melanoma a decade ago and courageously fought against sarcoma for two years. Her family extends their gratitude to Dr. Salawu and the team at Mount Sinai Hospital for their excellent care and compassion.

A memorial visitation will be held at Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe Rd., Bradford, on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m.

In Bertie’s memory, donations may be made to Mount Sinai Hospital (Sinai Health Foundation).

Marie Tustin

June 2, 1948 - November 5, 2024

Marie Tustin of Aurora, Ontario, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2024, at the age of 76. Known for her gentle spirit, love of animals, sense of humour, and kind heart, Marie was a cherished member of her community.

She is survived by her two children, Michael and Juanita, as well as several grandchildren who were the light of her life. Marie’s love and dedication to her family were boundless, and she was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her warm personality and generosity left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Marie’s presence will be deeply missed by family, friends, and everyone whose lives she touched. Private family arrangements will be held in her honour.
