Tom Curtis

August 15, 2025

Man with beard and glasses in elevator

It is with profound sadness that the Curtis and Masters families announce the passing of Tom (Thomas E.) Curtis, beloved husband, father, brother, brother-in-law and uncle. Tom was loved by everyone who knew him. He was gentle, easygoing, and thoughtful, always generous of his heart, time, wisdom and life experience.

Born in Galveston, Texas, Tom’s journey took him across Europe before he landed in Toronto, where he built friendships that became lifelong family. Soon after, he met Cathy, and the Masters family became his own. He remained devoted to his family in Texas, visiting often and staying closely connected.

Tom was a wonderful family man and devoted father to Michael (Renée) and Phillip (Emily). He was always present – whether helping with homework, coaching baseball and basketball, or simply spending quality time. He loved sports, travel, BBQs, music, movies, and getaways with Cathy. His humor, optimism, and adventurous spirit defined his life.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Cathy, his sons Michael and Phillip, siblings Phyllis (Mike), Rob (Lisa), and Chris (Katy), along with the extended Curtis and Masters families, nieces, nephews, and countless friends in Canada and Texas. Tom was predeceased by his parents Jo Ann and Thomas Sr., and in-laws Shirley and Len Masters.

A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe Rd., Bradford on Saturday, August 23, 2025 from 1–3 pm. Guests are encouraged to dress “Tom Casual” in his honor.

In Tom’s memory, donations may be made to the Helping Hand Food Bank.

Memories and notes of condolence may be shared at Funeral Home Not Listed.
