Rodney Kershaw

Rodney Kershaw passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the age of 62. He was the cherished son of the late Donald and Mabel Kershaw. Rodney was a beloved brother to Ruth (Wayne) and Don.

He will be remembered with love by his nieces and nephews and greatly missed by his friends Charlie, Thys, and Jeffery, as well as his housemates Brian and Brendan. Through his life, he made numerous friends and will be fondly remembered for his passion for music, dancing, bowling, and shopping.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Rodney’s group home and the staff at Brantford General Hospital for their compassionate care.

A graveside service will be held at a later date.

Jacqueline Muriel Holmes

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jacqueline Muriel Holmes, of Cambridge, in the early hours of December 18, 2024. Jacqueline will be remembered for her incredible work ethic, generosity, and love for her family.

She is survived by her companion David Solinger, her children Shelly Jo, Laura-Lee (Rob Paxton), and Warren (aka Terry) (Natalie), as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Stanley and Muriel Boomer (née Jones), her brother Terry, and her best friend Sandy.

Jacqueline loved to travel, cook, and spend time with her family. She was known for her delicious roast beef and Yorkshire puddings. Her generosity touched everyone who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 23, 2025, at the Hespeler Legion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to One Roof, House of Friendship, or the Hespeler Legion in her name.

Bernice Cecilia Joseph

March 11, 1936 – December 26, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Bernice Cecilia Joseph, on Thursday, December 26, 2024, in Mississauga, at the age of 88. She will be deeply missed by her three children, Gillian, Devon, and Derek; her grandchildren and great-grandchild; her sisters and brothers; and the Joseph and Gordon families.

Bernice was a pillar of strength and a guiding light to her family. Her distinguished career as a teacher and principal inspired countless lives. Her infectious sense of humor, passion for dancing, playing piano, and traveling, and her unwavering optimism in the face of adversity left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Bernice’s life at a memorial visitation on Friday, January 10, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Sandalwood Room at the St. John Dixie Cemetery and Cremation Centre, 737 Dundas St. E. (at Cawthra), Mississauga. Bernice will be repatriated to Grenada for burial with La Qua Brothers Funeral Service. Further details will be shared at a later date.

Janice Diane Maas

1964 - 2024

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Janice Diane Maas. Janice passed away suddenly in Markham on November 18, 2024, at the age of 59. Beloved spouse of 18 years to Kurt Reiter. Loving mother of Mathew Bolivar (Elizabeth Duffley). Dear sister to Nancy Millar (Steve) and Richard (Karen). Cherished daughter of the late John and Diane (née Skinner) Maas.

Janice will be fondly remembered by her niece and nephews, extended family, and many friends. A passionate volunteer with Scouts Canada, Janice mentored young minds for 15 years. She touched many lives and will be missed dearly by everyone that knew her.

As per her wishes, Janice has been cremated and will be laid to rest at a future date.
