Elinor J. Wilson passed away at Moira Place, Tweed, on Sunday, December 15th, 2024, at the age of 95. Predeceased by her husbands Harold White and Peter Wilson. Loving mother of Jeff White (Jeannie), Brian White (Cheryl), and Sherie Chestnut (Cecil). Sadly missed by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joan Herrington (née McComb), aged 78, passed away peacefully at Campbellford Memorial Hospital on November 29, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Harry Herrington, Joan was a devoted daughter to the late William and Vera McComb and a loving mother to Bev Dunlay (Dan) of Campbellford and Cheryl Sleeman (Scott) of Cobourg.

She was a cherished grandmother to Ashley (Peter), Valerie (Chris), Kayla (Shane), and Sierra (Robert), and a proud great-grandmother to Landon, Lucas, Logan, Alexa, Peyton, Connor, Marley, and Theo. Joan is survived by her sister Janis Vieau (Rick) of Cobourg and was predeceased by her brothers Gary McComb and Carl McComb.

Joan was born and raised in Campbellford, where her love for family remained a central focus throughout her life. She spent most of her career working at World’s Finest Chocolate and will be fondly remembered for her dedication, warmth, and loving spirit.

A Spring Interment will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Joan’s life at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #103 Vimy Room, 34 Bridge St. W., Campbellford, on Thursday, December 5, 2024, from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Campbellford Memorial Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. March 18, 1937 – November 28, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of James "Jim" Glenn Hagerman, who passed away peacefully at Caressant Care in Marmora on November 28, 2024, at the age of 87.

Jim was a loving husband to Mary Hagerman (nee Reid) and a devoted father to Glenn Hagerman (Jennifer), Reid Hagerman (Kim), Nancy Boersma, and Sherrene Hagerman. He was a proud grandfather to Jeffrey (Ashley), Daniel (Sarah), Justin (Dana), Riley (Nikki), Logan (Amber), Samantha (Brayden), Christopher (Kaitlyn), and Kalo (Kristy). He is also lovingly remembered by his 15 great-grandchildren.

Jim is survived by his brother Douglas (the late June) and his sister Bernice Sheppard (the late Howard). His life was filled with love, laughter, and dedication to his family and community.

Visitation will be held at Weaver Funeral Home in Campbellford on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Burnbrae Cemetery, with a reception to follow at Burnbrae Presbyterian Church.

Alford “Frank” Austin passed away peacefully at The Bridge Hospice in Warkworth on November 23, 2024, at the age of 93. Beloved husband of Rita Austin (née Vigneux) for 57 wonderful years, Frank was a loving brother to Nellie and Walter and will be deeply missed by his friends and extended family.

Frank was predeceased by his parents, Fredrick and Alice Austin, and his sister Verna. Known for his talent as a mechanic and his love for all things Ford, Frank spent many years as a custom farmer, serving the canning factory in Trenton. His hardworking nature and warm presence will not be forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to gather at the Weaver Family Funeral Home – Warkworth, 70 Church Street, on Friday, November 29, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM, with burial at McPhail’s Cemetery.

Helen Lorraine Smith (née Tompkins) passed away peacefully at The Bridge Hospice on November 23, 2024, at the age of 93. Beloved wife of the late Ronald Smith, Helen was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love for family and life will be remembered by all who knew her.

Helen is survived by her loving son Daniel (Kim) Smith and predeceased by her son Lee Smith. She was a cherished grandmother to Aaron Smith, Leslie (Elvis), and Derek (Holly) Ellicott, and a treasured great-grandmother to Michael. She was also a loving sister to the late Jean Otter, Shirley Otter, and Marion Malynyk. Helen will be dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews, and extended family. She is predeceased by her parents, Roland and Jennie Tompkins.

Known for her deep devotion to family, Helen delighted in baking, knitting, and creating joyful Christmas celebrations. Her pride in her heritage and Indian Status with the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte was a central part of her life. Helen’s humor and larger-than-life presence, along with her storytelling and inventive words, will be sorely missed.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Kelly Parks and her staff, the staff at Island Park and Campbellford Hospital, and the compassionate volunteers and staff at The Bridge Hospice in Warkworth.

Respecting Helen’s wishes, cremation will take place with a private interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Campbellford.
