MUNGAL, Esther Mungal - passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 28, surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Esther was born on April 12th,1925 to the late Matthew and Rachel Sampath, and resided at St. Vincent Street, Tunapuna, Trinidad. Esther had thirteen siblings: John, Joseph, James, Charles/Chicky, Abraham, Anna/Baby, Patrick, Martha/Dolly, Mary/Ena, Jean, Ralph, Tara/Tiny and David.
Esther married Kelvin Mungal on April 14th, 1943 and they resided at 193 Happy Hill Road, Gasparillo, Trinidad.
She was the proud mother of Noel (RoseMarie), Indira, Lucy (Balki), Cintra (Deonarine {deceased}), Merlin {deceased} (Raj), Allan (Darlin), Ralph (Zaina), Helen (Steve), Cherry and Ladonna.
She was predeceased by her husband Kelvin on February 15th, 1978. When her husband passed away, she continued to keep her faith and trust in God. Her focus was set on being the sole caregiver and provider for her family. Esther was the proud grandmother of Randy (Sherry Ann), Lisa, Natasha, Chris (Jennifer), Glen, Kristy, Kevin, Ryan (CAN), Ryan (T’DAD) (Jenny), Trudy, Jeremy, Rennie, Keron, Leanna, Zachary and great grandmother of Keyera, Moses, Rianna, Radyn and Renaiya.
Esther relocated to Canada in 1988 and lived a few minutes away from Pickering Pentecostal Church (PPC) on Oklahoma Drive, Pickering. She began attending PPC which became her home church until she passed.
Esther’s main priorities were her relationship with God and her family. Her love for her family was boundless, deep and unwavering. Her passion for life was evident in everything she did, she was the life of our family, the soul that connected us all. She always challenged us to live our life right. To her family, mom was a great support in good and bad times. She cared for others and faced life’s challenges with grace and strength.
She will be lovingly remembered for her wittiness and sass which always kept us on our toes.
Her unconditional love for her family and friends will be missed.
