It is with broken hearts that the family of Maria Abati announces her passing on April 17, 2025, with family by her side. Born in Mezzani, Parma, Italy, on September 5, 1930, she came to Canada in 1962 to join her husband, Amos Abati. They celebrated nearly 63 years of marriage until his passing in 2018.

Dear daughter of the late Carlo and Pierina Rosi, and sister of the late Luigi and Marisa Rosi. Beloved mother to Piercarlo (Nancy) and Giovanni. Loving Nonna to Cristof (Deven), Alene (Marc), and Amos (Nina). Proud bisnonna to Thea.

Predeceased by her brothers- and sisters-in-law: Maria (Renzo), Iones, Eros (Rina), Gino, Bruno; niece Mirka; and nephew Fabrizio. Fondly remembered by family and friends in Italy and Canada: Maria, Franca, Mario, Simonetta, Hedy (Eric), Alessandra, Sarah, Robert (Dallas), Richard, and others.
