With heavy hearts, the family announces the peaceful passing of Ronald William Abernethy at Southlake Health Centre in Newmarket, Ontario, on May 5, 2025, at the age of 89.
Ronald was the devoted and loving father of Ronald (Kathleen), Lori (Bob) Nosad, and David (Suzanne). His children and grandchildren will forever be grateful for his love, support, laughter, and positive outlook on life.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Joan and continued to be a source of strength and love for his family throughout his life. Cherished grandfather of Katie (Colby), Ron, Logan, Stephen (Amber), and Kiera (Dom), and proud great-grandfather to Ledger, Sloane, and Maverick.
Ronald will also be lovingly remembered by his siblings Gail (Rob) Clarke and David, and dearly missed by his longtime companion Nancy (Daisy) Baddeley, as well as nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A private family interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Princess Margaret Hospital.
