Peacefully, surrounded by loving family on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Bluewater Health, Lynn passed away at the age of 80.
Alberta Lynn Steele attended school with her siblings and farm neighbours in little school #12 on LaSalle Road then SCITs. Following graduation Lynn worked at Polysar while raising her two children, Tracy (Chris) Charlton and Todd (Carla) Chipman. She later met Walter “Bud” Chipman and a blended family was created, stepmother to Rich (Martha) Chipman and Martha (Ralph) Werden. As happens in life things change and Lynn married George Steele and together, they built a life of love that grew over 30 years .
Lynn was proud to be called Grandma and created a special relationship with MacIntyre (Stephanie) Font and Claudia Font (Logan Buruma) children of Tracy Charlton. Lynn was also blessed with step grandchildren from the Chipman Family, Steele Family and Charlton Family. Lynn was grateful for her host of loving friends, Doug Hinchberger and his daughter Erin and her lifelong gang of friends from Polysar. Lynn is survived by her dear sister Gail (late Mike) Mullen and Robert (late Maxine) Murray. Predeceased by her parents Albert and Wilhelmina Murray (Nee Ross), and her siblings, Joyce (Dr. Dan Brown), Bill (Fran), Harry (Donna), Myrna (Harold) Glass & Marilyn Murray.
Coming from such a large family of 7 siblings, Lynn is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A big thank you to the Murray Cousins for always being there for Lynn and family. We are blessed to have had such a loving group to honor the Murray name.
The family is extremely grateful to the staff at Bluewater Health for their care and compassion shown to Lynn and for keeping her comfortable in her final days.
