ALEKSANDRENKO, Dariy Aleksandrenko

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dariy (Dar) Aleksandrenko, age 27, on October 9, 2025, in Oshawa, Ontario.

Born in Shostka, Ukraine, Dariy built a remarkable life defined by creativity, compassion, and resilience. He studied to become a paralegal and, with his signature determination, balanced his studies while offering Airbnb cleaning services on the side. A passionate creator, Dariy had a gift for bringing ideas to life — if someone wanted it, he found a way to make it, always adding his own unique flair.

Over the past year, Dariy worked on building meaningful connections with the Indigenous community, an effort that reflected his respect for culture, people, and shared humanity. He was deeply proud to have earned his Canadian citizenship last year, and even prouder to have exercised his right to vote.

Dariy is lovingly remembered by his partner Adrianna Pike; his mother Oksana Aleksandrenko; his brother Aleksandr; and his grandmothers Olga and Ludmilla. He is predeceased by his father Aleksandr. He is also remembered by his second family, the Pikes (John, Kelly, Logan, maryjane, Daniel, Kaitlyn, Penelope, willow, Maddison), and by many dear friends — Sam, Bailey (Matt), Andrea, Rachel, and Alison — all of whom were touched by his kindness and spirit.

Dariy lived with a rare generosity of heart — always thinking of others before himself, always lifting those around him.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date, in true Dariy fashion — around a fire pit, surrounded by love, laughter, and stories.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dariy’s honor to the Lakeridge Health Cancer Centre, whose care and compassion gave him precious extra time.

He will be forever loved, remembered, and missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
