Passed away unexpectedly on September 17th, 2026 at the age of 82. Alexander MacDonald was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, teacher, and friend to many. Sandy is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn, his two children, John and his wife Kendra, and Heather and her husband Paul. His five grandchildren, Jackson, Corbyn, Morgan, Nicholas, and Zoe. And his brother John Fraser. Sandy was born in Lennoxtown, Scotland on July 8th, 1944 to parents John and Frances MacDonald. Throughout his career he was a mechanic, a Navy Lieutenant reserce, a teacher, professor, and director, and a member and president at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 606. He will be remembered for his kindness, his generosity, and his humour. He will be deeply missed by his friends, his family, his colleagues, and all who knew him throughout his full life. Sandy’s Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00pm on October 25 th , 2026 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 606, 1555 Bayly Street, Pickering.
