In Loving Memory of Ellen Jane Alton (née Kent) – Passed away peacefully at the Haliburton Hospital on Friday, April 11, 2025 at the age of 89. Ellen is now reunited with the love of her life, Herb, after 56 years apart.
Dear mother of Donelda, Doug, Cheryl (Mark), Beatrice (Brock), Paul (Tammy), Tammy (Joe), and predeceased by Judy (2008) and Donnie (2017). Loving grandmother of Darlene, Herb, Jason (Lisa), Rod (Paige), Jeremy (Audrina), Mike (Jessica), and Travis. Great-grandmother of Amber, Austin, Zander, Spencer, Lucas, Hunter, Athena, Melissa, and great-great-grandmother of Cole.
Predeceased by her ten brothers and sisters, Ellen is fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends for her warmth, resilience, and devotion to family.
Friends are invited to visit the family at the Gordon A. Monk Funeral Home Ltd., 127 Bobcaygeon Rd., Minden, Ontario on Thursday, April 17, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Service to Celebrate Ellen’s Life at 1:00 p.m. A reception will follow in the Monk-Cray Family Centre. Spring interment to take place at the Minden Cemetery.
Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
