ANDERSON, Brian Stuart Anderson

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Brian on May 15th, surrounded by the care and compassion of hospital staff and family, following an accident and a period of declining health.
Brian is predeceased by his beloved parents, Stuart and Elsie, and his brother Gord. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 52 years, Christine, his cherished daughter Carolyn (Mike), his caring brother Graeme (Anita), sister-in-law Linda and nephew Dwayne, and two grandchildren who brought him endless joy—Colton and Addison.

Born in Dundee, Scotland, Brian’s journey took a significant turn at the age of 5 when he emigrated to Canada with his parents and extended family. He remained deeply proud of his Scottish roots, and nothing delighted him more than a Robbie Burns supper, complete with poetry, laughter, and a hearty toast of Scotch to the haggis.

Brian dedicated most of his professional life to Campbell Soup, beginning in Toronto, moving to St. Mary’s, and eventually returning to Toronto, where he retired after an impressive 32 years. His commitment to work was matched by his generous spirit in the community. For over 25 years, Brian and Christine gave their time and hearts to Scouts Canada, and he was honoured with both the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal and the Silver Acorn Medal for his especially distinguished service.

In retirement, Brian and Christine found joy in travel—exploring Europe, the Mediterranean, Hawaii, and embarking on two unforgettable voyages aboard Star Clipper tall ships, where the wind and waves matched Brian’s quiet sense of adventure.

As per his wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Oakville Trafalgar Hospital (7 South and 3 North) for their attentive care.

In honour of Brian’s memory, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
