ANGELEVSKI, Mara Angelevski
March 28, 1931 - September 6, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mara Angelevski, who left us peacefully on September 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on March 28, 1931, in Graesnica, Macedonia, Mara was the eldest of five children of Spasa and Pandil. In 1970, together with her husband Pandil, she immigrated to Canada in search of opportunity and a brighter future for her family – a courageous decision that forever shaped the lives of generations to come. She was predeceased by her husband in 1994, as well as by her sisters Cveta (Mate) and Milica (Vlade). She is lovingly remembered by her brothers Mile (Cveta) and Bosko (Velika).
Mara was the proud and devoted mother of Vasil (Regina) and Rada (Slobodan). Affectionately known to all as “Baba”, she found her greatest joy in her family, especially in her role as grandmother and great-grandmother. She was endlessly proud of her five cherished grandchildren – Jim (Nancy), Jole (Kathy), Elizabeta (Kaitlan), Natasha (Sam), and Marina (Karl) – and her heart overflowed with love for her 11 great-grandchildren: Jonathan, Jack, Olivia, Chloe, Leah, Scarlett, Ethan, Joseph, Mila, Theo, and Matthew. Their laughter, love, and energy were the light of her life, and every moment in their presence filled her with immeasurable joy. She adored each of them deeply, taking pride in their milestones and delight in watching them grow. To her, time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was life’s greatest blessing and her purest happiness.
Mara’s passions reflected her generous and nurturing spirit. She was an avid gardener, tending to her flowers, plants, and vegetable garden with the same care and patience she gave to her family. She also found joy in her kitchen, where she lovingly prepared traditional Macedonian meals that brought everyone together, keeping cultural traditions alive and creating cherished memories around the family table. Her home was always filled with warmth, comfort, and a sense of belonging.
She will be remembered most for her strength, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to her family – a true matriarch whose love and resilience built a foundation that will endure for generations.
Mara leaves behind a legacy of love, unity, and resilience. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered and cherished in the hearts of all who knew her.
