On Sept 8, 2026, the heavens gave out a set of treasured wings to a special wife, mother, daughter, sister and grandmother, Anne.
Anne Helen Hemmerling (Labas) was born on May 25, 1930, in Lestock, Saskatchewan. She was one of seven children born to Joseph and Helen Labas. After completing her schooling in Lestock, Anne moved to Saskatoon where she worked for several years at Shelley Western. It was here where she met her husband Ted (Theodore) Hemmerling and celebrated 42 years of marriage and became a stay-at-home wife and mother to their only child Michelle.
Anne loved to spend time in her massive garden as well as preparing huge feasts for family and friends. When her sister moved to Saskatoon, she joined a curling league and later in life sold Nevada tickets at the Coachman Bar for over 30 years. Every day, except Sundays, Anne walked to the mall and back to sell tickets and a special booth was constructed just for her. She loved socializing with all the people.
Anne’s greatest treasurers were her two grandchildren. She babysat them when they were little and thoroughly enjoyed being a grandmother. Even when the kids were older, her babysitting duties were not over as she then took over babysitting her daughter’s two pet dogs and bird. She loved animals.
Anne’s faith was always very important to her and she rarely missed mass. She will be deeply missed by all and is no longer in pain and is now at peace with her parents, siblings, and husband.
Anne is survived by her daughter Michelle (Nemanishen) husband Brian and grandchildren Kayleen and Brandon and her brother George. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Helen Labas, her husband Ted and brothers Roy, Joseph, John, Edward and only sister Marjorie (Hamel).
A private service for immediate family will be held at Holy Family Cathedral on Sept 28th at 10:30 am with interment to follow.
