It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Peter Armstrong, age 62, at his home in Oshawa on July 15, 2026.
Peter was the beloved son of Joan and Hubert Armstrong, cherished brother of Bill, and loving uncle of Christopher, Ashley, and Kaitlyn. He will be dearly missed by his Aunt Marg and by his close cousins Robert, Elizabeth, Kevin, Thomas, Caroline, Jim, Michael, and Susan. Peter will be deeply missed by his many close friends, who were like family to him and among the most important people in his life.
They shared decades of laughter, loyalty, and unforgettable memories together, and his absence will be deeply felt by each of them.
Peter will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humour, animated spirit, and cheerful nature. He had a unique personality that brought laughter and joy to those around him.
A lifelong hockey fan, he proudly cheered for the Toronto Maple Leafs and was a devoted follower of the Oshawa Generals. His love of music was just one of the many things that reflected his vibrant spirit.
Peter will be cremated, and a celebration of life to honour him will be held at a future date.
All who knew and loved Peter are warmly invited to join the family in celebrating his life. Details will be shared once arrangements have been finalized.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Peter’s memory may be made to Autism Home Base and would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
Peter lived life with laughter, loyalty, and a love of great rock and roll. He would no doubt encourage us to celebrate the good times, turn up the music, share a Fireball, and remember him with joy.
